Hi, Everyone today I give you a view of a female Mallard duck who was only a one minute walk from where I live. She is going about her life in a small pond that is home to salamanders and very tiny fish and of course water plants as well as a healthy variety of insects. The value of ponds are immeasurable and really need to be cared for and protected as you would for your own home.Sure mosquitoes breed and live here but they too are important in the overall picture as you know that all life lives in a chain and should a link in that chain be broken, all will pay a price up to and including death.I do not want to see anything here on our planet become extinct as that is a tragic thing that I hate to see happen.Life on our Earth has been here for something like 3.8 billion years and my hope is it will be around with all it's variety for another 3.8 billion, but it can only happen if we-humans let it.I say that because we have an innate ability to kill and at our hands many tens of thousands of living things have become extinct.I want to live in a world where I can at anytime see something natural living in clean water and breathing clean air and not have to worry about it remaining that way.I want that for me and you and everybody yet to be born for there is a simple joy to the things that live in our lovely, natural world.R.E.S.P.E.C.T find out what it means to me!By the way I am not a tree hugging liberal or a redneck crazy but rather somebody who just cares and hope that you in your gentle way do as well.

Have a good and safe weekend. Bob

Hi Bob

Very good POV and pose. The exposure/lighting are really good too - as is the colours saturation.

Fine details in the well groomed plumage of this happy duck!

The clarity is superb in this one.Spot on focus and sharp detail.
Excellent lighting and colours.
The plumage detail is wonderful.

Rob

This is a lovely sharp image of an under-appreciated species. I think mallards are so common that one doesn't always appreciate how lovely they are.
