Hello,

Sorry about the bird feeder, I wish I could have captured this tinny bird in a tree but it is almost mission impossible for me. This is the first time I can photograph this Carolina Wren that I don't see often, in fact, this is the first winter I see it.

Honestly, I don't know what this bird is doing here as in some notes I have read, they are not quite adapted to our cold winter. I also have just read somewhere else that this bird is considered rare in my region. I have seen it since a few weeks, but every time I go out to photograph it, it is gone. It went at the bird feeder which is on the front of my house and delicately opened the window and was able to take a few shots.

“Singing one of the loudest songs per volume of bird, the Carolina Wren's "tea-kettle, tea-kettle, tea-kettle" is familiar across the Southeast. It is a common bird in urban areas, and is more likely to nest in a hanging plant than in a birdhouse.

Description
• Small buffy songbird.
• Tail often held upward.
• Rusty underparts.
• White eyestripe.
• Loud.
• Size: 12-14 cm (5-6 in)
• Wingspan: 29 cm (11 in)
• Weight: 18-22 g (0.64-0.78 ounces)

Sex Differences

Sexes look alike; male slightly larger

Sound

Song a loud, repeated series of several whistled notes: "tea-kettle, tea-kettle, tea-kettle." Calls include a loud chatter and a rising and falling "cheer."

Hi .Claudine. We cant always get them in the right place at the right time. I have yet to post a picture of a Wren we have one which visit the garden but does not stay long. you have captured good detail and colour. well done TFS.
Nick..

bonjour Claudine

Merci,

francine

Claudine,

Very nice for this little guy to stop by your place and say hello. It's not always about the image so much, sometimes, the chance to witness is most of the pleasure.
Great job,
Congrats,

Hi Claudine,
I will be back.

Bonjour Claudine,

Merci,

Eugène

Hello Claudine
This is a lovely wren and so different from our ones in the UK..The feeder doesnt matter at all..Its a bird that I have never seen and as such am very pleased you posted him in such vivid sharp detail..Great use of fill flash.
Best Regards
Paul

i think under the circmstances one would expect some items to be included in the shot..i dont mind the feeder..if i could get a birdy shot like this i would be happy even with the queen mary in the shot
really crisp and well shot eye and expression
you got the feet in which would be a first for me in many respects
any strobe lighting used here?
it looks like it
cheers

Hi Claudine,

What a cute little Wren. I love the pose - even if he is on a feeder. He looks like a brat. It must run in the family because our Cactus Wren has the same look. Nice natural colors and good deails.

How cute this bird, Claudine!!
I think I have seen it before in a similar pose, but I can't remember the capturer. Bad memory. You did a good capture too, even if it was on the feeder. I'm really glad to see it.
Thank you very much for sharing.
My best regards
Maite

Hi Claudine
It is not easy to photograph any kind of wren and you did good work here. Yes it is on the bird feeder but better there than not at all :) It is probably beginning of your corporation and who know this little red one will show up on some of your well known apple trees :)
Well done and TFS
Ralf

Hello Claudine,
You have captured a fine little fellow, a nice pose and funny expression!
Great details in the plumage, and the flashlit subject is well exposed...
Feeding is important, in particular for birds that are not quite adjusted to the climate!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Claudine.
Thank you for bird feeder from us and from birds.
You have captured amazing specimen at so attractive pose and distance. Terrific details. Colours are superb and exposure (considering domination of white color tones) is spot-on. My compliments.

Hello Claudine,
This little Wren is very cute, I think it's keeping guard at the feeder! I like its pose and the sharp focus. Fine details and colours too. The Wrens are hard to capture here too. Well done!

Hi Claudine,
A different presentation today.
I like the original pose of the bird, and the sharp details got on its plumage.
I can see the flash light used on the eye's reflection, and the clarity on the feathers.
Congratulations and thanks to post.

Grat photo. Nice and sharp. the flash work here very well. Nice pose and excellent note too.

Hi Claudine.
I see these birds quite a lot, but they are very hard to get a shot. Usually too far.
You were lucky to get this nice close up to show the fine details. I know it is sometimes not pleasing for a bird feeder to be in the photo, but that is how it goes.
It shows exceptional clarity.

Doug

You caught this Carolina Wren beautifully with your flash! The colours, sharpness and lighting are excellent and the pose superb. I would have put up with the feeder too for a shot like this!
Nice one and thanks for sharing it!

Hi Claudine
Wonderful shot
Crystal clear image
Super fine detail
Nice natural color

Maybe he just really likes your house :) The close-up of the bird is enough to overcome the bird feeder. He is sharp and well exposed. well done. Congratulations on finally getting the shot You were after.

Bonjour Claudine,

Hi Claudine,
this is fine looking capture of the wren,a bird that at the best of times so hard to get a decent photo of.I like wrens and the way these little birds have their tail feathers up like a high tailed cat and they are well known for that trait. Here where I live there are about three different species of wren to see and they are never easy to get photos of.The wrens are probably the best singers I have yet to hear though the meadowlark is not far behind and if they could have grammy's for bird song they would win beaks down! The photo has great detail and colour that suffers a little from the use of flash but I know dull days are a challenge and you have done very well for that and the eye is not unnatural looking.Shot owls with flash and you will have crazy red eye like you wouldn't believe. Thanks for showing us this lovely little wren. Hi Claudine,
This is also Troglodytes. The same species as in Turkey or different? Your photo is more clear and detailed than my photo. Especially details in the eye and on feathers great. ell done. TFS.

Mustafa

Simpaticissimo questo "wren" che sembra bello grosso di dimensioni! Molto bella e nitida l'immagine e anche dai colori naturali.

La gradisco molto, ciao e grazie, Emanuele
