Hi Everyone, today I went out for a long walk about to see if I could locate the eagles I made mention of in my last upload notes.Well as you can see I found them and I was truly surprised as there were four of them in this location. The property owner told me that there are actually seven living on her property. The reason they are on this property is there is an area of open water that is home to ducks and is also a waterhole for other creatures that the eagles take as prey. The water is warm spring fed and never totally freezes over, which is lucky for me!The birds are at this location every winter so I know I'll get ever better shots of these magnificent birds. My photos are not all that good as they would not let me get very close to them and my choice of f-stop may not of been wise so next time I'll open it up more and use f/5.6 instead.I am happy just to have been able to see so many all at once. The four birds consisted of 3 adults and one juvenile. These raptors are huge as I could see them perched in their tree even 1 kilometer from them. The beauty shot is getting closer all of the time, and I have time.In the workshop I have this very bird perched in it's tree. Both Photos were cropped, resized and slightly sharpened using Paint.Net.The weather today is very easy to bear with as at the time of this shoot it was +4c and the light strong and clear.I hope you enjoy these photos. Bob

stunning aerial shot of the eagle, the beak and head is especially sharp and well focused. TFS

Well lucky you!! You will have fun next winter recording the activities of these magnificent birds. You did a good panning job and the focus on the head is perfect. Nice work.

Hi Bob,
Splendid job my friend, I know how frustrating it can be trying to close in on these birds. This is a great in flight, congratulations.

Hi Bob, beautiful shot of a beautiful bird. The colour and detail are very good, especially the head with that fantastic eye, and the feather detail is respectable too. The weather really was supporting you in this one. That is one fantastic sky as a backdrop. You've composed this well, filling a square format frame with this guy. I'm looking forward now to your future shots, when you and the birds get to know each other a bit better. Enjoyed.

Thanks, John

Hello Bob,

Great picture of this eagle. Very beautiful composition. Excellent POV, DOF, focus, light and colours. In french we say : "le regard perçant de l'aigle", you could very well capture this striking eye.
Cheers,

Mariki

Wow, Bob, I sure enjoy your photos and envy your proximity to these fantastic creatures. This picture is great, you know, with the eye enlightened and the light on its bill. It's beautiful and we can contemplate at will the flight of this great eagle. Look at the wingspan, breathtaking. Hope you will post more photos of the eagles and some of the foxes too. Thank you!
