Hello, this Eastern Screech-Owl photo too was taken
the same hour as my yesterdays posting in the forest
Boisé Papineau 15 minutes by car from my home

here is a link on the Boisé Papineau

the title is : Boisé Papineau
A natural haven in southwestern Quebec

http://www.natureconservancy.ca/site/PageServer?pagename=qc_ncc_work_projects_papineau

to have a close view to the home of this
Eastern Screech-Owl i invite you
to go and to view this posting of Claudine

http://www.treknature.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=143147

i wanted i different POV and approach to the image
to include in the image the trees and branches
around the Owl's home, but even that this photo
was taken in JPEG format to double
my 300mm zoom and i was at ISO400

here is some text on the Eastern Screech-Owl
from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology web site :

« The Eastern Screech-Owl is found in nearly
every habitat throughout the eastern United States
and southern Canada. It is common in urban as well
as rural areas and readily nests in nest boxes.

Eastern Screech-Owl pairs usually are monogamous
and remain together for life. Some males, however,
will mate with two different females. The second female
may evict the first female, lay her own eggs in the nest,
and incubate both clutches. »

His home is quite distinguishable and I'll bet even I might recognize it now from seeing its unusual shape..almost a provocative shape...Well done for your owl..I think he perhaps likes you Asbed!

Hi Asbed,

A great shot of the owl in his home. He is clearly visilble and looks very cozy. I like the centered composition with the surrounding branches. Great find!

Jane

Bonjour Asbed,

Je suis bien contente qu'il se soit trouvé un autre nid, je me rappelle que tu m'avais mentionné que son arbre avait été détruit lors d'une mauvaise température. Encore une fois, tu réussis à nous présenter un animal dans son environnement naturel. Belle prise!

Lise

Asbed,
Perfectly captured owl-at-home!!
The presentation is very interesting, too!!
TFS!
regards,
Goldy

Merci,

Francine

Hi Asbed.
This shot is so nice as previous one. Nice framing and presentation of the scene using another magnification. Once more excellent lighting, exposure and details/blurriness. My compliments and TFS.
