You Frighten Me
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Today I have "You Frighten Me" for your consideration.Sometimes when I go out to photo my wildlife friends I take them by surprise and nearly scare them to death or so it would seem.I try not to frighten our innocent friends but sometimes that is just what I end up doing anyway. This little pied billed grebe was an unfortunate victim of me and my intrusive camera. This little bird was going about it's business diving and catching fish when from some distance I spotted it and decided to get closer to it.While it was under water I would move towards it and this is just what I did until I was near enough to it for some good detail but I got too near as the first photo in the top left side shows ,I caused it to swim away very quickly and for a moment in the smaller photo on the upper right side the little bird stopped and then it turned towards me and puffed itself up in an attempt to make itself appear larger and more formidable so as to drive me off.The pied billed grebe is a bird that does not very much like to fly if it can avoid doing so.I felt bad for scaring this little bird and took the message and left it in peace. What I'm curious about is if you-dear reader have ever accidentally given an animal a fright as did I ?I like very much my wild friends and would never cause them undo stress or fear but sometimes it just doesn't work out so well. The three photoes were pasted together using Paint.Net. Hello Bob,
So after scaring all your poor friends, you finally met your match in the Grebe, isn't it?:) Well, I think in wild life photography almosst all our friends must have encountered similar situation sometime or other. Since these birds are so alert, however soft footed you may be can't help disturbing them at times - though you try ur best not to. Once a whitebreated kingfisher decided to take a dip in the tank placed infront of me.poor Guy! It became of my presence only after it came out of the water and perched on the brim of the tank to dry itself out.To tell you the truth we both were scared- the bird 'coz it was unsure of my intentions, and I because that was the first time I was so close to any bird and its beak looked dangerous.I had the camera with me and I slowly raised and went on clicking like mad. Now we have become good friends. I sometimes feed it too. you can see my friend in my gallery.
Now coming back to your picture, it's a beautiful collage, each picture perfect n its own way. Liked the water droplets frozen in the air. God POv too.
Thanks for the share,
Smitha.
