Quite the different look in this one...congrats to the wife Rick. I think it is framed well and gives one much cause to look more than once!

Hi Lucy and Rick,
Time for Lucy to join us on TN so we can all get to meet her and see her work. This poor little Owl is just sitting there minding his own business. Great to get the Lark in the frame like that. The workshop shows great timing - I didn't know they attack each other.

Hello Rick,
Please tell Lucy that she has made a great entry as a photographer and encourage her to join us on TN!
This is a fascinating bit of action of the Horned Lark trying to mob a Snowy Owl, both being sharply captured and nicely juxtaposed in this composition.
Thank you both for sharing this fine image,
Ivan

Hi Lucy and Rick
Hey, what a great event to capture. Well done Lucy. Despite being a bit far away I can still feel the tension in the air. Sound like you had a great day and Rick...did you get your hearing aids fixed :)
Take Care

Hi Rick,
Great action in the workshop one, you'll have to go back, hide, be patient and bring us a close-up of their behaviour! The snowy I've seen were always alone, proteting their own area. So, your image is very special.
The other one two is nicely composed vertically by keeping the bird who is preparing to attack!
Well done and thanks for sharing!

The excitement and thrill of your adventure out there in the wilderness are clearly discernible in this image as well as in your workshop image, Rick. Lucy has done a great job of getting both the birds within the frame.
Great action shot for which she must be congratulated.

Hello Rick,
Situtaion is well recorded!
Interesting diagonal is created between the two subjects of interest, a good pose and fine details in the owl...
A fine well balanced composition, unusual!

Hi Rick,
absolutely "La Classe", your lady! The picture has besides the great composition the quality of a specific mood. The soft light is helpful here. Wonderful!
Best regards

Hi Rick,
Wonderful prelude to the action moment and you have captured the suspense and the excitement pretty well. I pity that Snowy Owl but that is nature at its best and the struggle for survival goes on. Seems you had a great time watching this scene as also your morning sojourn to the hills. Lucky you, so much wildlife around you. Very neat and sharp image with an excellent POV and composition. Kudos.
TFS.

* A special THANKS for Lucy, for without her agility and perseverance we would not have seen this marvellous shot.

Oh Rick (and Lucy) both are great owl shots. Just give them a touch of Levels and they "come alive". That workshop photo is great. I can't crop a small TN photo, but if I were you I'd crop the original and give it a bit of contrast with the Levels slider. It is fantastic. We rarely see such great action shots here.

Hi Lucy, this is a fantastic shot and it would be great to see more of your pictures! The composition is tight and very well thought with the two birds opposite yet holding the whole frame. Great light too, beautiful colours. Thank you very much and congratulations to you!

Hi Lucy and Rick,
this sure is an attractive photograph and the note explains well what is going on.The details are very good even though the point of view is not as close as you would like.Any time a photo of these wonderful birds can be had ,don't hesitate, just go for it and see what you can get, what Lucy got is wonderful with a nice airy light and exposure that is well focused for the distance involved.I like this photo and thank the two of you for putting it up on TN along with the rest of these Snowy's already on TN,can't have too many Snowy Owls,ya know.
