Feeding Avocets is today's upload.I have many photos that have been taken on dull days and this is just such a photo.I take photos in all types of weather rain or shine.I find dull days to be a challenge for getting good exposures and still use a low iso speed but it is not always possible to do so as this photo shows. What I need for low or poor light conditions is an f/2.8 lens if I want to photo without boosting the iso too much.Sorry I haven't been around much lately as I have been a little stuffed up and really not feeling 100%.Well it is now spring here in Alberta and soon I hope to see more of my wild life friends returning to the area so I can and you ,get to see some more of what lives here in Alberta.I like these Avocets and they can often be seen in groups of more than 30 individuals.Frank Lake is located a short distance to the east of High River and is home to many varieties of water fowl, raptors and even weasels.Post production was done with Paint.Net. I have ran into a bit of a brick wall as I really want to show creatures I have not already have uploaded to TN but I haven't had much luck in finding new species to photo and spend time with.

I don't see what's wrong with the ISO here, Bob, this picture is really good and shows extremely well what it's like on a grey day. There is movement with the waves in the water and the beautiful pattern in the wings of the birds, their legs and bills... the colourful red heads add a dimension to your picture, we feel the cool wind and the rush to feed. Beautiful picture, Bob, with the harsh reality these birds endure. Thank you!

Francine

PS Hope you get better. Spring is at your door!
