Return To Earth

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Hello everyone today I have a photo I call Return To Earth.Nature is the best re-cycler that I know and it simply does it all of the time as long as what it tries to break down is not man made ,that is.This simple photo shows last fall's leaf litter with an old hornet's nest blown down from a tree. One of the advantages of living in the temperate zones of the world is the seasons change and organic material is slowly reused and not locked up in growing plants like in the tropical areas of the world. This is an advantage because land that does get cleared for farms has a higher amount of organic fertilizer and with care can be viable for a very long time, whereas in tropical areas the natural organic fertilizer gets absorbed so very quickly that the clearing of land leaves little in the soil and the land dies very quickly without the decomposing plant matter releasing back into the soil.Clear the forest and kill the land just about sums it up for tropical areas. The winter time here where I live saves organic material for later use as fertilizer,a blanket to warm and protect new sprouting plants, is food for much life not just plants and it smells actually very nice too.Nature's litter is a wonder but human waste is just horrible and not easy for Ma Nature to deal with and looks awful as well.Last years life is this years life as it returns to the earth. I hope you enjoy this simple looking photo of something that really isn't that simple.PP was done with Paint.Net. Bob |

Hi Bob , I find your notes here hold an interesting view , but I hope that there will not be any clearing of woodland areas for farming , I rather like the woods :-)
I like your photo , the fallen leaves make a nice background and good contrast for the nest. the nest has great detail , I find them to be a marvel.
I wonder if there is still life inside that nest.
Regards

Hi Bob
I wish life was so simple...we humans seem to complicate our existence so much. I say... keep it simple and natural. I like your wasp nest, it's really a piece of art created by an insect.
Interesting note Bob, I like your way of thinking. To help nature along in my garden I've created a Naturescape to attract bugs, birds, frogs, and butterflies and what ever happens to come along.
