Here they are... the bumblebees are swarming over North America as Mr. Shannon predicted so well earlier this day! May they come soon and fertilize flowers and plants, buzzing with joy around us!

I saw Bob Shannon's posting, our treasured Golden Oldie, this morning and as he threw a bait, I caught it. Today is Bumblebee's Day which makes sense right after Easter. It is minus 10 Celsius outside, close to noon. The snow is thick and stays thick even though it should be melting.

Let's do the Bumblebee Dance all over the world in order to bring spring and sunshine, warmth and joy! I wish I knew some of those dancing rituals the First People used to do.

This Bumblebee was so deep into what she was doing that she was holding on to the pistils to reach even further into the flower. I took many shots without breathing and this is the best one, the sharpest one. I was amazed at how the bumblebee was close and tight to the flower, it really is like making love.

Hope you enjoy this post and after all, "Let's hang on to it"!

Aha! Krishanmurti once said "Matter follows thought"... we create our own destiny...I never did believe in anything predestining...we make the choice.s..I have told my children they can change the weather..and it is possible...but only some know the secrets:-) Great notion to follow today..

Hello Francine
This is a lovely bee capture on a glorious Hollyhock flower..They really do pick up some big grainy pollen from these wonderful towering plants.
When no one is looking!! I shall try a little Bumble Bee dance for you.
I hope spring comes to you soon.

Hola Francine.

Roger

hi Francine,

I think that this is one of your worst photograph.
The flower overexposed and i think the bee could be sharper, sorry for that.
But good composition and beautiful colors.

Regards Gert

Hallo Francine
It looks as if this bumble bee is in love with the pollen covered anther, the way it is holding on to it with its one paw. You have captured a beautiful big pedalled soft coloured flower. You wish that Spring would come soon, here by us it is now only Autumn so Spring is still far away. This shot was worth all the effort and all the shots taken. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.
Kind regards
Anna

What a lovely summery image :-)
I need some sun or I will go crazy!!! But this will tide me for a few more days :-)
I love how the striped petals draw the eye straight to the dancing, bumbly Bee.
It is very sharp and I can see a lot of detail from the fur on its back to the tiny specks of pollen on the flower.
Nice central composition and you've chosen a great POV.
Well done Francine!

Hi Francine,
I like colours and textures over the flower, but I think that there is too much light over the right petals and that the bee needs a little more of sharp.
Above that, the moment captured is great. I spent last summer trying to capture a bee on a flower, but they move so fast!!!
TFS
have a nice day
