Identification:

Le Sizerin flammé est un passereau rayé, de couleur gris-brun, avec le menton noir et le front rouge. Le mâle se distingue de la femelle par sa poitrine rosée. Comme le Bruant des neiges, le Sizerin flammé est un oiseau du grand Nord qui nous rend visite pendant l'hiver. En décembre, il descend au sud jusqu'au milieu des Etats-Unis et il remonte en mars et avril pour aller nicher au nord. Comme il se tient en groupe de 25-30, on le voit envahir les mangeoires en dévorant les restes et parfois les fientes des autres oiseaux. Alors, les maladies peuvent l'affecter. Ainsi l'hiver passé son corridor de migration au nord de Montréal est devenu le corridor de la mort puisqu'on a identifié des centaines voire des miliers qui ont succombés à la salmonellose présente dans les mangeoires. On conseille donc de nettoyer ses mangeoires à toutes les semaines.

Hi Joseph,
what a fine light you have this capture taken in as it really brought out the colour beautifully in this bird's plumage.I like Red poll finches very much and this year only got to see just one.A finely detailed photo with great colour.Thank you for this one,he goes into my theme.Shame about the many deaths that these birds have had. Bob

Your Carduelis flammea also occurs in my country Turkiye. Up to now, I have not seen it. But its very similar species, C. cannabina is common, even if, in our university campus. Your capture is perfect with excellent eye contact, POV, sharp details. It looks like here. Splendid coloration and plain colored BG very nice. TFS, best wishes

la première chose qui me frappe à l'oeil dans ta belle photo,
c'est cette superbe pose du sujet, ce simple petit mouvement
du sujet rend l'image plus dynamique, et superbe timing
de ta part d'avoir « shooter » la photo à cet instant-là

le reste de l'image, POV et cadrage, DOF, luminosité,
netteté et détails sont comme d'habitude excellent, TFS
