We are clean because we preen!

| Today I have for you a photo taken this past Sunday of a small group of tundra swans. These birds every year around this time make a pit stop in the little marshy area behind our local graveyard to take a brake in their long journey to the arctic breeding grounds. In this shot we see the group are preening their feathers so as to make them water repellent and in good condition. The plus for me is they look so clean and white and for the birds clean feathers keep them warm as it still gets below freezing this time of year here in Alberta and a bird soaked to the skin could easily die of exposure.I hope that I can get some shots of the slightly larger trumpeter swans as well in the near future as they are on the rare side and also are the largest swans in the world.I hope you enjoy these ever so clean birds.PP was done with paint.Net. Hi Bob,
Interesting composition with these tundra swans preening. They are beautiful birds, unfortunately very few in my area - trumpeter (tagged) and mute swans are easier to find. TFS

Hello Bob
A lovely capture of these swans, perhaps the horizon is a bit skewed.
The focus and sharpness are excellent.
The lighting and colours are beautiful.
Nice contrast.
They seem very comfortable with you nearby.

Hello Bob,
Wonderful image of these Swans in there natural environment, excellent POV and detail, love the colour of the water with the reflection of the sky, my only comment :( sorry is the slight tilt to the right, (and I thought the world was flat) anyway hope you don't mind I did a W/S and fixed the curvature of the earth, lovely work mate, all the best
Cheers Rick :)

Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio
hello Bob
wonderful shot of these Tundra Swans, with fine POV,
excellent DOF, lovely luminosity of the image,
great sharpness and details,
am i seeing wrong ? you don't think that you have maybe
rotate the image of 1 or 2 pixels in opposite side of the clock ?
