hello, with this shot i have 5 Red-winged Blackbird images,
with this one all posted in TN, 1 femelle and 4 males, for the
males images, all my shots are done when he is launching
his cry to tell other males « Here is my territory »,
i love this one all the effort he is putting on his cry

from the All About Birds website :

« The male Red-winged Blackbird fiercely defends
his territory during the breeding season.
He may spend more than a quarter of all the
daylight hours in territory defense. He vigorously keeps
all other males out of the territory and defends
the nests from predators. He will attack much
larger animals, including horses and people. »

Hi Asbed,
This guy seems to be really angry!
I like a lot the emotion and expression got on this scene, is not so easy to achieve it.
Very well done and thanks for share.
My best regards,
JM

These are so hard to catch...I think it is becuase of all the black birds in the world, these are the blackest and have no sheen or glossy feathers..so when you put them up against a blue sky...it is like a photographers nightmare. This means...you must make up for all of nature as one man...and you do it in image, knowing that this kind of shot cannot be done, but you do it anyway and give it a voice through your words...which is why you are so good. You are good at words and expressing your feelings to others...it works...it really works...whatever you have....don't lose it. You are so good at the combinations of feelings, pictures and putting those into a context which every one or anyone can understand.

Hello Asbed,
The call of the Red-winged Blackbird is one of my favorites. You have captured him in full display and calling his heart out, thanks for sharing my friend.
Rick

Hi Asbed,
Must be a loud noise from this Red-winged Blackbird. He is putting a lot of energy to defend his territory. The action is well seen. TFS this well done image.

Hi Asbed,

I don't know this bird ao i write on what i seeing!
Good capture while he danced or make noise.
Enough of sharpnes but i don't see no details in the black.
I don't see no eye, alone that light in his eye.

I know this is a difficult color, so overall not so bad as i write but i see a photo and there writing my critiques on.
I hope you understand what i mean, my english is not so good as i will.

Regards Gert

Hi Asbed,

I'm not feeling well so this will be short. Just want to say this open beaked Blackbird is delightful. I love the pose.

Jane

Hi Asbed,
Dynamic pose captured, I like it alot..I've only seen this bird here twice..and I blew it, missed a good shot :(
Technical issues aside, a great post.

Howard

Hello Asbed

A very well timed shot of this red winged blackbird.
I love the extended body as it makes it's melodic call.
Well placed in the frame.
