hello, for today i decide to post this image that i love,
this American Red Squirrel was the first one i took in photo,
i have already posted another shot of this adorable animal

http://www.treknature.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=127316

i love the cute glance of this Red Squirrel
and the way he is suspended at this branch
only with hes foots like only acrobats can do it

photo shot in RAW, ISO 100

from this webpage, here is a paragraph
on the American Red Squirrel :

http://www.northern.edu/natsource/MAMMALS/Redsqu1.htm

« The red squirrel has powerful hind legs for climbing
and jumping. The front legs are smaller, and have thumbs.
The other fingers are longer with round, sharp claws
set close together. The toes are all the same length and
more powerful than the fingers, so this squirrel can climb
trees very quickly. The red squirrel's bushy tail has hairs
that can be up to 4 inches (10 cm) long. The purpose of
the tail is to maintain balance while the squirrel leaps from
branch to branch. When the animal sits, the tail may be laid
up over its back. This squirrel is one of the noisiest little
creatures in the forest, noted for chattering and scolding
those who venture too close. The red squirrel may also
stamp its feet and jerk its tail when upset. »

thanks for viewing and critiques

You seem to have no troubles going out in the colder months...and the season does show well here Asbed. Has your snow melted yet? Ours is gone and up to 70 degrees F tomorrow. Happy trekking! Keep clicking:-) Great shot!

Hello Asbed
This is a fine capture..some may say that the twig shrouding him detracts from the image but I dont think it does at all..What it does show is your skill as a photographer for focussing through it and capturing super sharp details on the squirrel..perfect framing as well with the right amount of space to the right.

Bellissima cattura, simpatica la posa dello scoiattolo che fa pensare alle acrobazie di una scimmia, ottimi i dettagli. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hello asbed. This is a nice presentation contrary to tight cropping. I like the shot balances the squirrel well in the natural habitat. Stunning composition and thanks for sharing. Well done and have a wonderful weekend. Best regards. Jusni

Hi Asbed,

He looks so small way up there on the tree! You captured good details of the squirrel. It looks too cold out there for me!

Hi Asbed.
What a cute first red squirrel. I like its so attractive and funny a bit pose. Exposure of the image despite the specific subject is spot on as well as the excellent DOF, excellent level of sharpness and very nice sky-BG. There are only few objects in the frame and you managed to compose the picture very well. My kind regards and TFS.
Alexei.
