Hello, today i am presenting you a bird that i am
very happy to had shooted in photo, and i was very
lucky to spot this lovely bird when i was walking
on a field of grass, it is my first Wilson's Snipe photo

i was with my 3 megapixels compact camera,
photo shot at ISO 200

« Wilson's Snipe

A common shorebird of wet, grassy spots, the Wilson's Snipe
has an extremely long bill that it uses to probe in the mud
for small invertebrates. Its camouflage is so good that
it often is not seen before it flushes from the grass.

The Wilson's Snipe was recently recognized
as a different species from the Common Snipe of Eurasia.
The two snipes look extremely similar, but differ in the shape,
patterning, and usually the number of the tail feathers.
The Wilson's Snipe typically has 16 tail feathers, whereas the
Common Snipe has 14. These numbers vary, however,
and a Common Snipe may have from 12 to 18 tail feathers. »

Hi Asbed.
Well the grass is not the best composition for it, but I would have done this too.
I see one around an area I am working, but it is always gone when i get the camera.
Maybe if you cropped if closer the amount of grass left, would have been a nicer presentation. It is quite well camouflaged I say.

Well spotted and well captured!
Snipe are not easy to see on the ground and this is a great capture of a Wilson's with fine sharpness and well composed in its natural habitat.

...There must be some international snipe day. Yours has it cuteness in it's hiding among some bushes yet you saw it fine...reminds me of a child's game of hide and seek.

Another bird I am not familiar with! Good eye to see him almost hidden in the grass. You managed a good shot with nice details of his face.

it´s true! it camouflage very well!!! good eye!
Although the grass disturbs a little, i think that this was the only chance, so... it´s good. You have captured nice details over it. Seems to be a very small bird: comparison with the grass is great.
