hello, and here it is the female of the Mallard Duck,
this duck is the girlfriend of the my yesterday's
male Mallard Duck posting, it is at the same place
as yesterday's posting, we can observe how the female
is camouflaged (or has the same colour) of his habitat,

and when the female was searching food and eating,
the male was always on his alert and guardian pose
like the yesterday's posting

this photo was shot in RAW at ISO 400

from Hinterland Who's Who web page on the mallard duck
here it is a little text on the female of the mallard duck :

http://www.hww.ca/hww2.asp?cid=7&id=54

« The female, accompanied by the male,
searches for a territory. Most often, she will choose
a territory close to where she was born. Some females
return year after year to the same site. »

thanks for viewing and critiques

Hi Asbed, nice capture of Mrs. Mallard. You caught her well with a good catch light in her eye, and water still dripping off her. Nicely composed.

Thanks, John

Hi Asbed,

Just marking up and will get back later...

Hi Asbed,a very nice duck in a very nice environment, the quality of details is great, excellent sharpnes and colours too, thanks for share, have a nice day, luciano

I left for sleep last night and return to see this undone. so sorry...A very sharp one and I note that it is not frequent one posts the female alone...I think they hang out very closely most of time time...Sharp and doing activities which are the mundane part of this aviary life...no worries though for it could care not...very nicely done Asbed.

Great illustration of the camouflage...she really does blend in so well. Nice how you captured her in her natural surroundings. :)

Hello Asbed,
I like the pose of this female Mallard and the upper half of the Bg shows how camouflaged she can be. Yet the sharpness shows her off well in a nice composition.
I noticed that several of your images, including this one, are peppered with small black spots. I wonder if there is some defect in the sensor of your camera, or is it due to over-sharpening?
Even so this is a fine image and thanks for sharing it.
Best regards, Ivan

Hi Asbad,

I'll never understand why the males get all the pretty colors! I like the pose on this little lady - she seems to be showing off for you. If she wasn't in the water she would be very well camouflaged. Nice shot.

Bonjour Asbed,
Madame mallard est très bien camouflée! Son plumage est de la même couleur que le bg.
Magnifiques couleurs et lumière naturelles, belle composition.
Beau travail.

Hello Asbed
First my apologies for not critting your work lately..I have been very busy with a few problems.
Now for this glorious Female Mallard..There are a lot of elements combined to make this a classy capture..The light for one is perfect and glowing showing the beauty in her colourings and secondly the framing..The space you have left to show her reflection in the stream is so well thought out..Outstanding work as always.
My best Regards
Paul

Merci!
