Le bruant hudsonien est migrateur et migre pendant la nuit. Pour se nourrir, c'est un oiseau diurne. Il est omnivore, consommant des insectes en été, et des matières végétales en hiver. Il cherche en grattant le sol, mais aussi le long des branches dans les arbustes et les arbres. Il fréquente les mangeoires, souvent en groupes. Il a besoin d'avaler 30% de son poids en eau chaque jour, ou pendant l'hiver, en mangeant de la neige. Dans les plaines enneigées, il lui arrive de battre les hautes herbes avec ses ailes et de récolter les graines tombées au sol. Le bruant hudsonien utilise des sons et des mouvements pour communiquer. Les chants sont utilisés pour défendre le territoire et pour attirer les femelles. Mâles et femelles chantent quand ils se nourrissent ou qu'ils sont menacés. Les oiseaux sont territoriaux pendant la saison de reproduction. Le mâle chante et défend le territoire, tandis que la femelle parfois chasse les intrus. En revanche, ils ne défendent pas leurs territoires hivernaux activement, et forment des groupes où se développent des hiérarchies.

This is a superb closeup shot o the sparrow.Almost like a studio shot.Tack sharp, good PoV and colours.The BG compliments the colour palette used in the composition.
