[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello DEAR FRIENDS, first i THANK YOU very much
for your ENCOURAGEMENT WORDS on my last posting

the suregeon veterinian phoned me today to tell that
with that BIG cyst on Celtick's back skin with the blood.
it is a risk to do the surgery, i went to take back Celtick,
he will be on antibiotiques until may 20
and the 21 of may the surgery will be

with my today's posting i will certainly
not win a photo contest, but this image has
a big place on my HEART, i had Celtick since 1998,
in 2005 i had his son Ranger, but Celtick was'nt
happy that i had another dog, so little by little in 2006
he had a BIG depression, Celtick become jalous
of Ranger and had a skin sickness, he was suffering,
we went to veterinian and Celtick recovered

on that time, in june 2006, looking my dog
on that depression and sickness shape,
myself i was going on a depression,

i did'nt accept that the nature
was HARD againts Celtick

i passed like that for few days until one day
i decide to take my small Fuji 3 megapixels camera
and to go on a nature park, near the river
separing Montréal from Laval

over there i saw this Wood Duck Mommy and
her ducklings, it was a fence at the park to the river,
i entered the small 3X zoom lens
of my camera on the fence hole and when
the Mommy and her ducklings pass in front
of me i shooted the image, they are againts daylight,
there is not much and details of their plumage

but this image has a BIG place on my heart,
it saved me from a depression, is after that
i decide to go to duck photographing
and not to stay at home looking Celtick sick

before this image when i had the occasion
i did Blue Jay, Eastern Cottontail,
White-tailed dear and a Moose photos

but it is with this image i started to really
do nature photography, i did alot of shots of ducks
but with today's photo i posted only 5 duck images
and one marmot image from my summer and fall 2006
nature photography year, photos done with my
« point and shoot » small FujiFilm camera

from the year 2006, i still have 3 or 4 images,
that maybe one day i will post them

in autumn 2006 Celtick recovered
from his sickness of that time,
i am wishing him the same thing for 2008,
the suregery will be the 21 may

sorry if i was too long in my words
and my English is not very good

i decided to add this image on the theme

Hi Asbed,

Your English is just fine! I know just what you mean - photographing nature is a wonderful pick me up - better than a pill. And this family shot is just lovely. I think I counted ten ducklings! I love the swirls in the water and the mom's reflection.

Hi Asbed, sorry to hear about your dog. This is an early shot of yours, and it's not the best you've done, but the pose is good. I could see how it would lift your spirits taking, and then later reviewing this shot. You had a good eye for composition even back then. I like the shot of the mother and the young ones in a line like this.

Lovely composition with great use of light and colour.

My best wishes for Celtic's recovery - I know I would be devastated if anything happened to Coco (my westie - who is currently ignoring me and sitting in the window, waiting for the postlady to arrive)!

Hi Asbed

Nice to see one of your start out shots of the Mother Wood duck and her Ducklings, I started in a similar way with a low pixel camera and lots of Duck and Swan shots and its nice to look cabk to see how we all have come along.

I hope all will be well with Celtick and he comes through his surgery and makes a full recovery.

Time is limited at the moment but I could not pass without leaving a few words of appreciation for your posting. I can understand after reading your note why you gave this image the title "The image of my HEART". It is indeed a very peaceful and lovely image and looking at it, it has a calming effect to it. Very passionate and motherly scene of the mommy duck and her ducklings. Good presentation, greatly displayed. Your note was really touching and I am sure things will turn out fine with the surgery. Thanks for sharing.

I really liked reading about your experience. I can appreciate where you are coming from as nature and nature photography always served as a huge stress reliever for me. Its awesome this has worked for you as well.

Dear Asbed,
Days have passed since you posted this photograph, and the story that you have accompanying is touching and heart warming.

I'm glad you decided to focus on something that could distract you from the worry that was weighing down your mind and i wonder what came of Celtic after the crucial day!

This is a fine image with a nice PoV and great mood - one that shows the sentiments of a relationship between living beings, here a mother who is moving with her little ones...Look around and there are so many of us caught in one relation or the other going through certain worrying times...yet most of us are lucky to have the Lord bringing us some distraction or the other to rise up again and get back to life...

Thank you for sharing this...pains shared are pains spared...Take care
