Hello, i would thank you again for your encouraging words
for the coming surgery of my old (dog) Celtick

today i am presenting you this Mallard couple image,
shot in RAW format, ISO400

from Hinterland Who's Who website
http://www.hww.ca/hww2.asp?cid=7&id=54

« The handsome Mallard Anas platyrhynchos is the best
known wild duck in the world. The male in breeding dress
is unmistakable. The glossy head and upper neck are
brilliant green, separated from the rich chestnut of the
breast by a white collar. The rest of the underparts
and the sides are light grey.

The back and wings of the bird are greyish brown, with a
purplish-blue speculum, or wing patch, on the wing.
The whitish tail has black above and below it. Two central
black feathers that curve back above the tail give the breeding
male its characteristic curly-tailed appearance.
The male has a yellow bill and orange legs and feet.

The female Mallard is a much less colourful bird.
Its back is mottled brown, its breast heavily streaked
with buff and darker brown. It is best recognized
by the white-bordered speculum on the wing, which is
similar to that of the male. The female has an orange bill,
sometimes blotched with black, and its legs and feet are orange. »

You are a true man of the natural world..and you walk into it as much as you can. Yo know? Back in the olden Colonial Days of America and Canada as well...where the 'Loyalists' lived and of course the French (*in my opinion Canada is a big part French)...anyway you walk into a natural world and see it just as it is and perhaps it is not perfection, but it is so much more because you live and breath it!

Hi Asbed,
first I hope your dog gets through his operation alright and that he will continue to be at your side for many more years to come.I like this photo for the environment these two are situated in as that gives added interest to the composition and it also gives some scale to the ducks size.I like mallard ducks even though they are so very common and you have capture these two with good detail and colour.A nice time of the season photo,Asbed. Thanks for sharing. This is a nice scene Asbed. I like the setting the ducks are in. You have good colours and clarity.
The only thing I would have done different is clone the branches out of the face on the male. Yes it takes some work, but worth it.

HI Asbed,
Nice capture of the couple. It isnt easy to get the two o them to pose for you welll and you have managed to do it just fine. That green sheen on the male's head is remarkable.Depsite those twigs creating a bit of distraction, the capture present good details and interesting eye contact with both the subjects.
TFS & Cheers:)
