Voici ce bruant que tout le monde a déja vu car s' il porte l' adjectif "familier", on le trouve même dans nos parcs et nos jardins, les vergers, les buissons et les pelouses près des habitations. Il fait son nid dans un arbre à feuilles caduques ou dans un conifère, dans un buisson ou dans une vigne à une hauteur variant habituellement de 3,00 m. à très rarement 7,00 m. et parfois même sur le sol. Il se nourrit de graines et on le rencontre souvent aux mangeoires.


Bruant familier

Nom scientifique : Spizella passerina.
Famille : Emberizidae.
Longueur totale : 12,5 cm. à 14,5 cm.
Aire de dispersion : Dans tout le Centre méridional, l' Est et le Sud.
Nombre d'oeufs : 3 à 5 bleus et marqués de taches brun foncé, noirâtre, brun rougeâtre et parfois un peu de lavande surtout autour du gros bout.
Durée de la couvaison : 11 à 13 jours par la femelle seule.
