These Black-Capped Chickadee's salvage seeds from pinecombs and randomly place them under tree bark. I've read that they are just storing them as food but I don't exactly believe it's that simple. Here's why: They say that the BC Chickadee passes on several locations before choosing a place for the seed. This leads me to believe he's pollinating the area. Possibly to attract bugs to the area for further feeding. Just my idea....
