"The Family" is todays upload and I am not sure if these are Great Horned Owls or not but Art and I sure did enjoy seeing them just the same. This time of year here where I live is the very best for nesting birds because the leaves on bushes and trees are not yet fully formed so as a result one can still get clear shots of them.Owls like all sensible birds do not expose themselves directly to the world and as you can see there is much foliage for them to hide in.
I hope for and expect that you gentle reader will respect and revere these fine denizens of our world and keep them safe and always around for future generations of we humans to admire; for what is the world without wildlife ? Somebody recently asked me at work, why so many bird photos-well that is easy to answer, they are larger than most insects and are easy to spot, that and the larger wildlife isn't. PP was done using Paint.Net.

Have a secure and safe weekend,One and All.

What a treat! The whole family together. Fantastic!! I love this one.

Very nice to see. I've never seen this before. Trevor

Hi Bob
You sure captured a nice family of Horned Owls. Actually it's pretty awesome. I just love the size of ear tufts on these owls. I never get tired of seeing owl photos, Owls are such interesting birds. Well done.

I hope your staying dry..I heard High River called a state of emergency last night....I drove down to Okotoks today and couldn't believe the amount of water that has collected. The rivers were really swollen.

Hello Bob.
Great image of this nest full of Great Horned Owls, I'm glad to see three owlets as there must be enough food around for them to make it this long. Surely they will make it to adulthood barring any human interference. Thanks for sharing this Bob.
