[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I saw a show on these Red-Winged Blackbirds last night. They said that 25% of the kids of these guys are illegitimate. And that's after the fact that they have harems. LOL

Hi Trevor,
good shot! what a great detail over the feathers, seems like an eye looking at us!!
Good POV and blur BG. Nice compo, seems like a shadow with colours doing some equilibrium. Good use of light. Curious note also!!
Compliements!!
TFS
have a nice day

Trevor,

Although those birds are very common, I find them very difficult to photograph. The lighting has to be just right to get the details to come out. In all my time shooting birds (which I guess is not that long), I've managed to take just one decent shot of a blackbird. I think that this shot would benefit form a flash to bring out a catch-light in the eye. Not too much flash - but just a fill to reflect in the eye. Other than that, it's a very good image. TFS,

Best Regards,

Martin

Trevor,
I just read that recently the illegitimate part..
The are hard fellows to capture.

Cheers
Jane

Hi Trevor,
A difficult bird to photograph. It's a little dark, somebody already wrote some flash might help (depending on the distance though) or maybe try and bring out some detail in the shadow using software (I had a quick look and there is quite a bit of detail in there). Nicely caught though, great natural background.
Regards,
Adrian
