This turtle was coming out of a shallow ditch on the side of a dirt road in our local park. I took a few pictures of him and came back 45 minutes later to find him in the same spot. I took another picture...

Trevor,
Is that a 'good old' snapping turtle ? I was always amazed how strong their jaws are. In any event, your picture shows this one very well. I just love their pre-historic look. TFS.

Great capture of this Turtle Trev.
It looks pretty hard case plastered in mud and twigs like that.
I always thought that these land dwelling ones were tortoises,but what do I know ?
Come to think of it, it doesn't look as round as a tortoise.
A great capture anyhow.
