Hello All,

As promised in my previous posting, here a shot of the same Female American Redstart looking for a location to build a nest. I have never witnessed such behavior before but unless I am mistaken, this is exactly what is captured in this shot.
This female took a quick break from feeding on insects, jumped between the branches and sort of wedged itself in between them. It looked as if it was checking the dimensions to see if this was a good place to build a nest. Of course the measuring instrument was its own body. All in all, it was a rather funny sight. It only took a few seconds before the bird was on its way, moving farther into the forest.
I haven't been back to this location so cannot tell if they did end up building a nest or not.

Best Regards,

Martin

yoiu captured a very interesting moment, you got one of those one of a kind lucky moments

martin - nice capture as clear as always - just your normal perfection! :)

Hello Martin,

This is fabulous!
What an honour to see a house builder measure her plot! This is such an 'active' photograph for a still shot!
The whole photograph is in sharp relief with excellent sharp details. Everything is so perfectly colour co-ordinated! The b/g matches her plummage perfectly.

Kind rregards,
Bev :-)

Hola Martin.
Love this photo. It is very interesting to see how wild animals some times do things that we dont underestad, but they are always bussy.
Great photo Martin.
Luis52.

Spettacolare momento di cattura, eccellenti POV e composizione, bellissima la coda "svolazzante", ottima nitidezza, bellissimo l'occhio con il riflesso, molto belli i colori. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hello Martin,
Excellent image with a great explanation of of this humours pose. Once again fantastic camera work Martin, with wonderful results. Thanks for sharing this splendid image.
Rick

Hi Martin, this is so cool, I guess when you don't have a pocket for a tape measure, you make do. You really do need to get back there and get a follow up shot. In any case this one is unique, its great. The bird is in a great pose, looking back into your camera, you have great detail and colour, very nice shot all around.

Thanks, John
