Hi Folks , today I have this small Song Sparrow , at least that would be my best guess , there are a few birds easily confused with it , as well it is a bird with very many sub-species .

This little one did not have a song in his heart today :-( I cant say as I blame it , perhaps if we see a ray of sunlight , this little guy will also brighten up , it just sat there for a time making little tweets.

The song sparrow sings its song to announce its territory , and to attract females. they are known to have complex songs , and a variety of them as well.

They forege on the ground or in very shallow water , eating mostly insect and seads.

I found this fellow in a thicket of small trees and bushes that is all water logged from our over flowed river which is a favored habitat though they are diverse about that.

thanks for stopping in
Regards
Art
