Hi Asbed,
well this sure is a nice subject for your 200th upload to TN and it is a charmer.I appreciate how tough it is to get good shots with a point and shoot camera but in this photo you have done really well as the colours and detail are all very good.I have yet to see one of these birds but hope too sometime in the future.Thanks for your 200th and I know you will get that SLR that you make mention of sometime in the future but until then,keep on shooting those wonderful creatures and give us another 200 if you can. A very good shot to use on this special occasion.
The good, off-centre composition with varied colours of natural vegetation are the first things to notice. Then, the beautifully camourflaged, sharply exposed and detailed chick becomes apparent. The dappled light is the final pleasing attribute.

Congratulations on your 200th post! That's a wonderful way to celebrate this occasion. You've got a very nice picture here. This time this little guy is actually visible. Maybe at day 1, they didn't quite master playing hide and seek as well as their parents did ? I like how you composed it, colors and detail are all very good.
As Bob mentioned, the fact that you take all your shots with a point and shoot camera and come up with high quality images proves your passion and dedication to nature photography. I hope that someday you'll get your hands on a DSLR as I am sure it would open up new doors and make photography a tad easier. In any event, I think you do a wonderful job! Keep at it and let there be another 200th! Cheers!

Congratulations!!!!! 200 is a wonderful milestone and you selected a wonderful picture for the occasion. This baby chick is marvelous - so soft and cuddly looking. He stands out from the busy background beautifully. Nice colors and details - I love the messed up feathers and that long beak. Here's to the next 200 - many which will be taken with your soon to be purchased new camera.

My very best of wishes for another 200...You are a man with one of the biggest hearts. So many Canadians and even those who are Francophones...perhaps especially, are great in the imagery work...and yours is right up there Asbed. I always love your work..you could post a bird eating out of a trash barrel and it would look good...but this one is special and let us keep it that way....

Dear Asbed,
I know there is much to catch up on in your gallery and others' too.But this week has been hectic for me.
However, i thought of getting back in here to especially congratulate on your milestone.
And what a meaningful and wonderful presentation you have here to mark this point, so very well camouflaged.I llove that long and sharp grey beak that is rather big as compared to the juvenile's little body.The colours and lighting are very well picked up while cpaturing this little one taking its first steps in life.
