[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today's upload I dedicate to Art Roberts who is TN user Art_R and has been very prolific since joining. On the day I first met Art he was out taking photos in an area of High River that I like very much for the quiet and variety of wildlife.I was of course happy to see another person doing the same as me and so I told him about TrekNature and on that very same day,Art made his first upload. This photo is for you Art. Taken in the same place as your upload of today I have this photo of a black red fox playing with the more common red coloured fox. These little animals sure have a great amount of energy and for their size can be a bit rough on each other, however none of them really hurt each other. The black kit is the very first of this colour variation I have ever seen and believe me I was thrilled at the chance to get photos of this family. In all I saw one adult and 11 kits and it appears that all of the foxes are made up of two separate families living only 80 feet or so apart. I have another shot of these two photoed at the entrance of the larger of the two dens in the workshop. This year is the third year that there have been fox families on the property and I hope they all make safe and sound into their adulthood . I plan on looking in on them once or twice a week to see how they are all getting along.I think that these kits are 1-1.5 months old now and by July will be into night hunting and will not be so visible.I did see those little mergansers but the light was getting difficult so my shots were a little to grainy.PP was done using Paint.Net. Hi Bob,

This is a wonderful action shot! One can read their expressions so easily, they are real beauties! I love their plays and everything spontaneous and expressive about this picture! Thanks a lot for this nice capture!

Hi Bob , wow that is great , thank you for the dedication picture , and a great one at that , looks like they got a lot more active in the evening than in the afternoon ;-)

great moment to catch , details , color , POV , all very good...

neat that you got one of the several dens there in the shot too , I did not scout out much to spare the cubs any anxieties but saw at least three dens there. It looks to be quite a community they have going there , sad to see the day the area is developed.

I have also seen what I think may have been a silver fox out by my work that is well within range of these. I saw the black cub coming and going from the same den as the red so figured they where the same litter...

thanks again for the dedication , and comments.

regards
Art

they are really amazng and cute, TFS Ori

Hello Bob,

What a wonderful experience you have shared with us all! These cubs really are very appealing! When I look at the shot in your w/s, I am struck by how much the black cub resembles a dog. What do you think?

Your detailed shots are the sort of photographs that it is a pleasure to idle over. I will look forward to seeing more from ... the den!

Kind rregards,
Bev :-)

Splendida cattura del momento di gioco di questi due cuccioli, ottimi POV e composizione, buona nitidezza, bellissimo l'occhio illuminato dalla luce, molto belli i colori. Molto bella anche l'immagine in WS. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio
