[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today's photo I call Little Hunter. This kit saw a magpie up on the slope nearest to me and thought that it might try to catch the magpie but the magpie would have none of that.I have noticed that magpies just love to tease and bait the foxes flying off at the last moment ,also magpies try their luck with raptors and even domestic felines-magpies!I have cropped this image as I did, so you can see the detail of the kit's guard hairs and in the workshop I have cropped even closer for a better look at this kit's face. The workshop photo is 59% of actual size and the fox was within 10 feet of where I was standing. These foxes are not all that shy as they see people all of the time and their dens are very close to the roadside.Even with a decent point and shoot camera, one can get excellent photos of these wonderful creatures.By the first or second week of July they will rarely be seen during the day and it will just be luck to spot them after that date.By the time they are about six months old the family units will have broken-up and they will live alone until once again it is time for the breeding season, when new families will be formed once again.I hope you enjoy this little kit as much as I.One more thing the adults are not often seen as they are out hunting for food to feed their offspring but they can trust their little ones not to wander away from home. Bob

Wow, this picture is so sharp and yet so soft to the eyes. It is beautiful, Bob, and I love the precise focus on the face as the backlegs are a little out of focus... it is really nice. The colours of the rocks added to the early or late beautiful light make up for a perfect picture with the smooth green background. The light makes your picture shine with beauty. Thanks Bob!

Bob,

What a pose. I think this one is really trying to tell the magpie to ... fly away sooner than they do :) Very nice capture with great observations. Great work. TFS.

Best Regards,

Martin

Hi Bob,
a beauitful portrait of these lovely creatures. It's so nice to see them in a more 'natural' environment than in the urban scene i am more used to. Excellent details, colours and very good timing to get this pose, well done!

What a marvellous capture of this young fox in such a good pose! How intently he is looking at the magpie! You are really lucky having these marvellous creatures so close and having the chance to take pictures of them. A superb picture with great sharpness, excellent light, beautiful natural colors and fantastic composition.

Hello Bob,
A little bit tightly in the frame (my opinion), but the photo is excellent. Great pose, sharpness, details, natural colours and POV. Very good timing. Very beautiful!

Peter

Hello Bob,

I just had to search out the next instalment of the fox cubs! I am not disappointed!
This is such a beautifully detailed shot! It is possible to see so much - the whiskers, the fur, the tiny but sharp teeth, the paws, the alert eyes. It is no surprise that these animals are associated with cunning. They do look very intelligent!

Will there be more?

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
