hello, certainly you noticed that my shutter speeds are always
set at faster speeds, like 1/100s, 1/1200s, 1/1600s, 1/2000s
and sometimes i went even at 1/2500s, 1/3000s, 1/4000s

that reason of that, is that my D-SLR like camera does
not have image stabilizer, and to prevent the camera shake
it was the reason why i shoot alawys at higher shutter speed,
and more open aperture like f4.9 and ISO 400 to let pass light
always for the same goal, is to prevent the camera shake

you can tell and why you don't shoot with tripod or monopod,
it is because i don't like to carry those things, but at the place
of tripods or monopods i was to buy this « camera handy grip »

http://bushhawk.shopol.com/Item/BH-HG10.htm

before yesteray at the place of that « camera handy grip »
i buyed this small mini-tripod, that when i fold the 3 feets
together they become one feet and a « camera handy grip »
and from the store where i buy the price was lesser (5$)
than the half price of the other one

http://www.gentec-intl.com/Default.asp?mode=prd&div_id=&prod_id=B310

and with that little mini-tripod, the 3 feets folding
and becoming one feet, and a handy grip
to hold better the camera and to stabilize it,
yesterday at the end of the day with a bad light
condition i decide to go and to do a test
shooting my photos with a lower shutter speeds

the beaver was at the rebdez-vous and i did my test on it,
i leaved the camera choose the shutter speed and aperture,
but instead of ISO400, i decide to shoot in ISO200,

the camera went with 1/125 shutter speed and F4.9 aperture

look at the results ! i am happy imagine before i was afraid
to shoot at a shutter speed lower than 1/800s and yesterday
at the end of the afternoon with bad light condition
i shooted at 1/125s, that handy-grip it helped me
to hold more stable the camera, and it is very small
i can put it in my pocket, now for all my coming photos
i will have that handy-grip with any of my cameras

with this photo i have a second one in the WORKSHOP
a closer shot at the beaver, it was about 50 minutes
after this one, the reason why with the one on the Worshop
i passed at ISO400, the 2 photos where shot in RAW format

and here is a link on the Beaver :

Hi Asbed,

I don't think I could live without the image stabilizer feature! Good test shots of this beaver. I think the best way to learn is by experimenting. I like the workshop better - we can see much more of him. The details of his face, eye, and fur are good and the colors are nice and natural.

Jane

Bellissima cattura, bella la composizione con i riflessi e questa luce particolare, come nitidezza preferisco quella in WS. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Experiment! It is fine..and sometimes you can come up with something which under normal circumstances you would not be able to do! It is a very natural shots. So many almost look posed, but this has a REAL feel to it...like it didn't even know you were there or some such and you were the peeping tom! Or Peeing Asbed:-)

Asbed,
i hate tripods, too, or rather, carrying them. Not a single shot of mine has a tripod..
This is an excellent test result!
I should start looking for the one you got too!
Cheers!
Goldy

Hi Asbed this is vweery impressive result and capture my friend. Beaver seems happy:) Great capture indeed. TFS. Cheers,

Bayram

Hi Asbed,
I think both you and the beaver are moving up in the world :)
Nice shot again of the animal swimming, the closer framing/comp has improved the presentation. The workshop today has better quality & detail.
Even with tripod or monopod support, 1/125th is pushing it for a moving subject IMHO.
Well done & TFS,
Howard

Hi Asbed,

Excellent capture of Beaver with good composition and sharp details. The colours in workshop picture are more balanced though.
