Just Dandy

Hi Folks , this little Grasshopper is seen munching on a Dandelion for it everything was Just Dandy.
when I spotted this tiny guy , I was walking along and noticed a spot on the dandelion , I moved closer to investigate finding this instar. I really have no way to distinguish between the first stages of grasshopper nymphs , the size of this insect was 5mm or less , I rather hoped that the way it is hugging this dandelion pedal may give a gauge as to the size but really it is all relative to the size of the flower.
using the tc20 tele-converter , my 1:1 distance is 24-23 inches , at 12 inches the assembly reaches its minimum focus distance , but is very difficult to use there , depth of field becomes very shallow. it is great though to be able to take the same image as I could with the macro alone but at twice the distance , also having the option to try for better than 1:1 is good too , but some practice is needed. though I am not that great at sizes and distances , I think that I was within 24 inches with a reproduction ratio higher than one to one.
thanks for stopping in
regards
