Hello dear TN friends, after a few days of brake
here i am presentiing you this image taken today,

The Mallard Duck drake that is almost camouflaged
with his environnement, i was walking on a track
(of the nature park near my home) when i noticed
that green head of Mallard drake,

between him and me there is a little water
this image here was shot at that water :
http://www.treknature.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=164105

today's photo is shot in RAW format and ISO200

From the Hinterland Wo's Who website
here is a little text on the Mallard Duck

http://www.hww.ca/hww2.asp?id=54

« Habitat and habits

Mallards are one of the first ducks to arrive back
on the breeding grounds in spring. They are adaptable
and may nest near a lake, pond, river, or even woodland pool.
Their preferred habitats, however, are the natural grasslands
that surround little reed-ringed sloughs, or marshy areas,
and potholes on the prairies. »

and to finish, i wrote in my previous posting
2 and 3 weeks ago my older dog Celtick
has a surgery removing a big cyst on his back,
after the surgery he had 25 staples at his back,
few days ago we went back and they remove that staples,
Celtick now is going very well, i am very happy

MERCI / THANKS

Asbed

Hola Asbed.
Aqui otra muy bella imagen de este Pato de hermosos colores verdes metalicos que se confunden con la vegetacion. Buen logro en la foto. Finos tonos de colores y alta nitidez.
Saludos Asbed.

It is not as hiding as my bee...as a matter of fact because it shines so much in the head, it is actually doing the opposite of what it wanted:-) also he, the male canard, must have posed just the right way,.. You could not have picked a better time to click the shutter.

Hi Asbed,

It would take more than some green leaves to hide this Mallard. His emerald green head and sparkling eye shine through. Beautiful colors and details. I'm so glad Celtick is doing so well!! Keep giving him your TLC.

Jane

Hello Asbed,
The problem with showing animals or birds that are camouflaged is that the thumbnail is easy to miss.
But on opening this one I see that the male Mallard's head looks great among the foliage: it glows but is not easily seen and it shows a interesting aspect of nature: many creatures can display their colours and also use them for camouflage. A good point, and TFS!
Best wishes, Ivan

Hello Asbed. Nice capture of this Mallard Duck. The natural surrounding almost camouflaged the bird as you noted. Pleasant lighting and well exposed capture. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

This looks like a nice retreat. A very peaceful shot Asbed. You have a nice composition in this one. If possible the exposure could have been a little less, because of how bright it was behind. TFS.

Hello Asbed

A lovely capture of this greenhead.
This shot makes a powerful demonstration why a green head can come in handy when one wants not be seen.
The detail and colours are super.
TFS
