Hi Doug

A great capture - excellent lighting and isolation from the BG plus excellent use of the light. An unusual shot - most of us would not associate hummingbirds with bullrushes (UK name for cattails).

I'm back... and delighted to see this marvellous picture!!
It's so amazing! I wonder how you got it with so much light and the dark bg. It makes a great composition with the little hummingbird captured so perfectly in flight and with so much detail. It's a real hummdinger!!

Hi Doug,
This is a very original picture! It's the first time that I see a hummingbird taking some fluff, I guess it's to build its nest.
The sudject is well exposed against the dark bg, beautiful natural colours.

P.s. The weather here also is very bad. Yesterday it reached 38 Celcius with the humidity :(

What a wonderful capture.
Nicely composed with a great POV and superb backlighting.
I really like the pose with the hummer gathering the nesting material from the bullrushes.
