[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi Folks , todays upload is called a Persius Duskywing , there are three types of duskywing in Alberta Canada , the Dreamy, Persius and Afranius , they are all very similar and hard to distinguish. this image best matches the image I found for the Persius so I will go with that :-) the marking I believe distinguishes this one is the white spots 2/3 up the fore wing.

unlike the blue I uploaded yesterday , this lovely brown critter was not very cooperative , getting anywhere near this fellow has repeatedly proved a challenge. Its most common resting place is upon moist dirt , which it is very difficult to see until it is frightened to take wing , after following it it is more aware because it was just startled... I think I was lucky that it took me so long to find after the initial fright because it seemed to be happily feeding on this dandelion when I did finally locate it.

after this and a few other shots I attempted to get in a bit closer , moving extremely slowly I managed to get my tripod placed a foot or so closer , but one wrong move and it flew again , this time far and out of reach :-( this is the third or fourth try this year at this butterfly and all other attempts I got not even a shot.

El Macro de alta definicion y nitidez. Los detalles a la vista y exelente encuadre. Bellos colores sin saturacion y bien definidos tanto de la palomilla como la flor.

Hello Art,
skipper and flower stand out clearly, are well focused and shown with excellent sharpness.
Despite the reflections on the forewing, the colour patterns are nicely shown.
Point of view and depth of field are well selected.

Beautiful capture of this pretty butterfly and the yellow flower. I love seeing both sides of the wings. Very nice colors, fine details, and a wonderful pov.

Hello Art,
I can imagine the difficulty of having to move around with your tripod, i guess that is one disadvanatge that you have when you upgrade from a P&S to SLR.But then the results compensate for all the trouble.

I know these small ones can make you go round n' round without a single good shot...and one has to be so careful not to lose track of them...ask me about it after a big chase today that ended not so succesfully for me today!!!!
This is a superb result you managed to achieve after such perseverance..good details, sharpness and colours.Interesting poV ...Very well done.

Hi Art,
you sure are getting your macro shots down pat as this one is so very well detailed.The colours are true and the use of f/9 still gives the insect plenty of well focused field of depth.I had an interesting time photoing one of these moths as every time my shutter snapped the insect would jump which is strange to say the very least.Thanks Art,you may well be called Mr.Macro as your small world shots are really coming along very well and me I haven't had too many photos of the small to even come close to the quality of yours-keep up the good work and thanks for giving us this view.
