hello dear TN friends, here it is my 3th posting
of a serie of 3 on the Great Blue Heron, i have 2 other
photos of this same Heron but they will be posted
in the future (coming weeks or months)

photo shot with the very small Nikon
point & shoot camera at ISO100

from the Hinterland Who's Who website
here is a little note on the Great Blue Heron,
for the complete notes go to this link :

http://www.hww.ca/hww2.asp?id=43

« The Great Blue Heron feeds mostly in calm freshwater and
along seacoasts. Occasionally, it finds its food in surf and in fields.

Its main food is small fish less than half the length of its bill,
or under 65 mm long. On occasion, it also eats shellfish, insects,
odents, amphibians (mostly frogs), reptiles, and small birds.

When captured prey is too large to be gulped down
immediately or has dangerous spines, the heron drops
the prey back into the water and grabs hold of it repeatedly
and violently with its beak until the catch is dazed or
the spines snap. Then it can be swallowed more easily.
Sometimes two fish are caught simultaneously. »

Merci

Asbed

Hi Asbed
Now this is a type of photo I like doing and seeing the best.
Natural food chain.
Those leaves make a nice composition for the heron.
You were fortunate to capture the fish in the mouth.

Hello Asbed, very nice shot of this Great Blue Heron, I've never been able to get this close to one. Not only did you get it, but you got it with it's fish. Very excellent timing on this one with a very good composition. I like the placement of the bird. Having him just behind the plants and upfront of the water, and with this fish, works very well.

Thanks, John

Hi Asbed your series of this heron going on gradually emotional. Great capture of a great moment my friend! All are perfect again. TFS.
Cheers,

Bayram

Splendido momento di cattura dell'airone con la preda nel becco, eccellenti POV e taglio compositivo, buona nitidezza, belli ed equilibrati i colori nonostante il forte contrasto di luce. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Another nice shot in this series Asbed..
The fish-n-beak makes this one stand out over the other two posts.
TFS!
Howard

Hello Asbed,
Another great capture of the Great Blue Heron with your Nikon compact, this time showing it with a captured fish. I like the FG of water plants and the sharpness and composition are fine. The light seems to have been almost against you but it was well managed.
TFS this capture of a capture!
Ivan

Your blues and greens are offset only by the whites which make it an intriguing image yet bring out the dinner in beak so well....Your love of natural things and beauty thereupon are well received.

Hi Asbed.
Great natural scene. I like it a lot. Great DOF and details of the plants, heron and its prey. Composition is spot on as well as exposure and colours of the image.

Merci!
