[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am posting this picture just for fun... This is a view taken from the south shore of Ile Verte, one morning. We were sitting and looking down at the low tide. We saw these Grey Herons fly by and stop... to fish-hunt. For a while they were 5 but I couldn't catch them all in the lens. They stayed there waiting for their prey and I have always thought herons knew how to live.

They stand there and things happen. What could be more zen-like? In fact, in life, we fight all the time to reach our goals, we fight to "climb the ladders" and fulfill our ambitions, we fight with money to get what we want... in fact, we have the impression we control everything whereas it is an illusion.

Things happen, we think them and create them, we "screen" events within our own subjective thinking.

Grey Herons are great reminders for me. And they are beautiful birds.

I had to look at this shot twice to realise what it was - the small scale really works - nice triangular composition, with very effective use of light.

j'aimes beaucoup ton image Francine, car il ne faut pas juste
que une image soit de plus près pour qu'elle soit belle,
dans ton image on voit l'immensité du majesteux fleuve St-Laurent
et l'on voit que ces oiseaux, les hérons, portant grand
ils sont tout petit dans le fleuve, j'aimes leur pose

j'ai décidé d'ajouter ta photo dans le thème
« Small Bird, Big World » de Bob (eqshannon),
car c'est une photo parfaite pour ce theme
