hello, dear TN friends, i have decided that my 5 next postings
(with today's) they will be images of mammals, i will post an image
each 2 days, i am starting with this Beaver image,

photo shot with the small « point & shoot »
5 megapixels, 3X zoom, Nikon camera

photo shot in JPEG and at ISO50

from the Hinterland Who's Whoa website

i have choosed this txt as notes :

« The beaver also builds a lodge, which may be occupied
for many years. Located in the middle of a pond or on the bank
of a waterway, this structure is usually built in one month
in the autumn. The lodge includes a feeding den, a resting den,
a source of fresh air, and usually two underwater entrance tunnels,
which allow for a means of escape if a predator enters the lodge
through one of the tunnels. The dens are constructed on a
platform 10 cm above the water line so that they will remain dry.
The beavers create them by gnawing out space in the
pile of mud, twigs, and bark that constitute the lodge. »

Merci

Asbed

Because this is a totally environmental shot, showing where it lives and how it lives..it is an important part of my theme..."Where they really Live". so I have added it. And as an aside...I love the greens...they are so natural and also passive..
Bob

Hello Asbed, I am still waiting to get a decent shot of a beaver. This one is good, with him working like this in his pond. Good definition on the beaver and on his supper.

Thanks, John

Hola Asdbed.

Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hello Asbed

A lovely capture of this industrious beaver as it works away in the water.
There is something beautiful about the way the light is creating reflections and vivid colours.
A lovely composition of this beautiful setting.

I really like the unusual colors here - its like a water color. Interesting shot!

Hi Asbed
Your much loved beaver at work again. But i have to say that unlike your earlier much wanted beaver shot that was posted, this one has a larger presence of beaver in the composition. And i see this one is busy building its lodge.
I can see that quite large twig that he is holding on to..and the3 m,anner in which it is holding it above the water...I would say watching these little birds and animals build thier homes can be quite therapeutic ..the way they persevere through the process ...to get a every bit of it worked out ...the way they would run back and forth gatrhering each little bit....i admire thier grit and patience and always feel quite humbled at their determination and will-power to "get it done".

Nice documentation with great colours reflected on the water.
TFS & Cheers
