Sous-famille des Turdidés : Traquets, Grives, Merle d'Amérique,
Merle bleu,
Dans le monde 99, Amérique du Nord 18, Canada 13 et Québec 10.

Dispersion :
Il y a 50 ans et plus, cet oiseau était assez commun au Québec, on l'appelait l'oiseau bleu. Puis la progression du moineau et des pesticides, la disparition des clôtures de perches, favorisa son déclin. Dans les années 70, des clubs américains installèrent des dizaines de nichoirs pour l'aider. C'était la création des sentiers de merles bleus. À partir des années 80, au Québec, quelques individus et des clubs firent de même. Au cours des années 90, son aire de nidification progressa vers les Laurentides, l'Abitibi et même vers la Côte Nord. On peut maintenant dire que le Merle bleu est abondant au Québec.

The same bird in another pose. But this one is very beautiful too. It's the best pose of the four I've seen. Still excellent colours, sharpness, deails and composition. Wonderful BG and DOF. Great POV.
