Hello TN!

I finally got a few days off from my usual routine! What do I do when I get some time off ? Pictures!
Well, I must say it has been a day filled with lots of bird activity. I went out to a local pond to try and capture a few Heron shots but came home with Wren pictures instead. Those are my favorite birds. Fast, agile, always happy looking and hard to photograph. For the first time ever, I found what looked like a Juvenile House Wren resting deep within a tree. It actually snoozed while I slowly approached to take a picture. (Check out the workshop to see it sleeping) I must have spent good 15 minutes watching it before a couple kids on bikes woke it up and scared it off. (I was standing right by a walkway). That is quite the usual ending to pictures like this ... but since it is a park, everyone has the same right to enjoy it.
What do you think about the shadows ? I am really interested to find out what others think about the lighting here (good and bad please :). All I can say is that this is where the bird rested. It well hidden from the elements so there was no way for the shadows not to be there. In any event, here it is, as seen this afternoon.

Best Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin , very nice , the color and composition are good , great detail very sharp and clean , also love the clear eye and catch light , the shadows , well perhaps a little bit distracting , but also natural , and gives a sense of the environment , makes me think the bird is looking for shade on a sunny day.

It's a nice enough shot for lighting conditions Martin. The only thing that may have been possible was zooming in more you you could have. That would have illuminated the shadow on his head a bit. Other than that excellent approach. Cute bird by the way. TFS Trevor
