I want to thank Laszlo Kaposvari (Horman_Manyer) for the ID of this beautiful mushroom: Pleurotus Pulmonarius. ANd it is a very good mushroom to eat, edible! miam miam!

This is another post from my walk of yesterday at Ste-Béatrix park. At this time of the year, it is so nice to take walks in the forest because of all the plants growing and all the mushrooms. I have been told that you may find a lot of edible mushrooms in this forest and I saw quite a few, even more than usual I would say as it has been raining so much lately.

These mushrooms on a tree trunk were beautiful and I couldn't resist taking a picture but I don't have an identification guide for mushrooms... and really don't know about it. I searched on Internet and information to identify mushrooms is scarce. Can anyone help me with ID? I would really appreciate because these are so natural and fleshy, almost like human flesh.

I thought the colour was lovely and the surrounding so peaceful.

I will try to find out the ID and update my notes accordingly. Wish me luck!

Thank you,

Francine

Hi Francine,

This is so interesting to see - I hope someone can ID it. Very sharp picture with excellent details of the folds and shapes. Nice natural colors and very pretty to look at.

Jane

Dear Francine,
I adore your walkway and the natural surrounding you are in when I see myself in the thick of NY type concrete jungle of Bombay (Mumbai) in India. These look like edible one...but you can not take chance unless very very sure. Lets see some Mushroom Specialist finally decides to confirm it's ID.

Hello Francine,
Wow, Incredicle image Francine, your depth of field, focus and exposure combine to create a fabulous image. As for ID I would guess it is some form of bracket fungi.
Rick

You are very clever with your eye Francine...And now that I have made my comeback I can see clear now. Very well done and your notes are always a joy to read.

Beautiful Francine,
I like most the exposure level here, perfect..Control the light and you control the shot as they say ;}
You've shown the mushrooms form, shape, and texture amazingly well.

Hi Francine,
Beautiful close up.Exposure is spot on,details are crisp clear.DOF,lighting and composition are perfect.Excellent work!
Thanks for posting.

Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

A superb shot, Francine and as usual, an excellent note! The POV is very nicely chosen, the exposure perfect!
Thank you for sharing this lovely shot!

Bonjour Francine,
Fantastic shot, great macro. Wonderful details, sharpness, compo. Bravo.
I don't fully agree with Maurizio (maurydv) in ID specification, it's impossible being Lenzites betulina. This is Pleurotus pulmonarius ("Summer Oyster" in English), without any doubt.
Tfs, best regards, László

bonjour Francine
