hello dear TN friends, yesterday for the 1st time
i went to the Nature Park of Bois de l'ile Bizard
i loved the place and here is a link on that place

http://www.out-there.com/qc12bib.htm

there i did photos of 3 new speecies of birds for me,
i will start by this image of the Black Tern,
i did searches in TN and i did not found Black Tern
photo postings in the North American section,
so if i am not in mistake this image is the first one

photo shot with my small Nikon
point & shoot compact camera

from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology website
here is some notes on the Black Tern :

http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Black_Tern.html

« A small dark, graceful tern of freshwater marshes,
the Black Tern eats insects as well as fish.

- Small, dark tern.
- In breeding plumage dark head and chest
and gray wings are distinctive.
- In nonbreeding plumage, head and underside white,
wings gray, and dark spot behind eye and dusky crown and nape.

The Black Tern is very social. It breeds in loose colonies
and usually forages, roosts, and migrates in flocks of a few
to more than 100 birds, occasionally up to tens of thousands. »

Merci

Asbed

Hi Asbed

Well done on this new species - nice action shot.

James

Hi Asbed,
You have managed to get a good shot of this very difficult target. I did not even know you have them over there. The wild flying pattern of Black Tern makes it very difficult to shoot. This pisture has good composition, sharp details and nice BG. Good work.

Dear Asbed,
Thanks for showing us this incredible North American bird from Nature Park of Bois de l'ile Bizard. To me it looked like lapwing in thumbnail, till I enlarged the image & found no its different :)

Hello Asbed
You panned the bird superbly here which has given the background a super blur enhancing the movement of the superbly sharp Black Tern.
And all all this with a compact!!..This really shows your skills perfectly.
Very well done and tfs.
My Best Regards
Paul

Hello Asbed,
A great in-flight of the American ssp of the Black Tern that is just beginning to moult into its winter plumage. Well caught wing position against a fine green OOF natural BG and the tern itself is pretty sharp.
TFS this excellent image,
Ivan
