Hi Folks , today I have this American white pelican , taken the same day as my last pelican upload. A pair of them gave me a couple of tries at them and I got some fairly nice shots.
I somewhat debated between this and one of a few with the two birds in the frame , it was a hard choice...
I liked this one cause it is nearly the full frame , with only the slightest crop to fit the ratio of my frame. though the original is a touch soft , I was still pretty happy with getting such a close in , shot of this beautiful bird flying by.
hope that you like it
regards

I always get the feeling that pelicans really enjoy flying. They glide along with that self-satisfied expression. It is a really nice shot Art. Center weighted metering seemed to do the trick. Nice color and sharpness.

Hi Art!
Just beautifull. Everything in this picture looks great. Composition, pose of bird, blue sky, details, light. Perfect work!
Hello Art, superb shot of the pelican. Colours are stunning against such a rich sky...wing details and shapes are spot on, a very good composition.
back soon..........

Hello Art
A wonderful shot of the Pelican in-flight.Quite sunny and nicely composed.
Very impressive wingspan and i see it is almost a full frame shot. The blue sky BG makes a fine contrast against the white bird. And i positively see a catchlight in the eye seen from thei PoV. The bird must have been flying quite directly above you when you managed this shot.
Despite the central composition being too common, this one looks beautiful especially with the big wingspan the bird exhibits.
Good colours and contrasts too.
