hello dear TN friends, today i have 2 psotings, the other
one is in the Workshop, i invite you to go view it

my today's title is :

Red-winged Blackbird : effet de filé

in French we say « effet de filé » to this kind of photos,
please in your critiques/comments i would like to write
me what is the Englsih translation of « effet de filé »,
if in French we say « effet de filé » , what you say
in English to this kind of photos/images

in the last weeks i had fun trying to do in-flight images
with the « effet de filé » of Red-winged Blackbirds,
of course this image was taken by my very small & compact
point & shoot Nikon camera, i can't not have the same quality
of images of the big and superb Nikon and Canon SLRs

i will invite you to go and view the image in the Workshop,
it is a « effet de filé » of the female Red-winged Blackbird,

but for that image i completally missed the focus,
the bird being out of focus it give an amazing white silhouette
effect to the bird, i was surprised to see that effect by the camera

here is a link on the Red-winged Blackbird :

Merci

Hi Asbed,
Great job of panning at 1/100 and gaining focus, with a nice motion blur to your BG. Strong sense of movement conveyed :)
Well done,
Howard

Now you did an old and still used trick of panning in a certain speed on camera....dang...that is ONE HARD picture to get...it's one of those images that you take and say...well I get it or not...probably not, but then you get back and look...an SURPRISE! You got it...I think Mario of all people of Quebec would understand since he does Formula Car Races..he knows this trick...it is a really a goood chance for you Asbed. Congrats on this very special one1

Hello Asbed

A very interesting pan of this red winged blackbird.
The colours are rich and well saturated.
The shot is eye catching.

Hi Asbed

A nice shot - you have achieved the sense of movement here wey well.

James

Red winged blackbirds are not easy to photograph. They move so quickly. You did a good job of panning with it and got good focus on it with a relatively slow shutter speed. Your white silhouette is interesting... I don't understand it though???? I wonder what caused it to be white.

Bonjour Asbed,
Bel effet de filé, mais pour les puristes l'oiseau aurait du etre dans le coté gauche de la photo!
Bien amicalement
Albert

Hi Asbed,

I hope someone gives the proper translation of "effet de file." This shot really motivates me to experiment with shooting birds in-flight. In this photo it looks like the background is moving, not the bird. Wonderful colors and good details of the face and plummage. I like it!!!

Jane

Hello Asbed
In my honest opinion this capture is far superior to any inflights I have captured...The reason I say this is I have far better equipment than you and I also have a system that I have worked out...Which you seem to have yourself..I would not even consider a capture like this possible with a compact but yet you have accomplished it..Your panning is exemplary as many have said..Including many photographers I hold in very high regard.
I Really dont know how you achieve this with a compact!!
The workshop is also a very good picture and has an effect controlled by the camera not keeping up with you...Both are fantastic captures.
My finest Regards
Paul

Hello Asbed,
I saw this one when I had no critiques left and thought the panning of this sharp capture of a flying Red-winged Blackbird is great! The wings are caught at a great moment show the red and white shoulder patches at their best. The panning has also created a great sense of movement. A superb shot my friend and thanks for sharing it!
Have a great weekend,
Ivan

Hi Asbed..You did great work...Good picture of a bird in flight...Excellent catch..
Best wishes,
Leyla

This is the second time I'm seeing this bird, and that too on TN only!
Lovely inflight shot, my dear friend Asbed!
Very well done!
