These are the other two little Screech-Owls I took a series of pictures last weekend.
They were hidden high in this oak tree and in the shade.
The picture is heavy cropped, hand held and at ISO 1250.

The Eastern Screech-Owl is found in nearly every habitat throughout the eastern United States and southern Canada. It is common in urban as well as rural areas and readily nests in nest boxes.

Gray, brownish gray, or reddish-brown.

Wingspan: 48-61 cm (19-24 in)

Wonderful capture of these two tiny Owls in there natural environment, excellent detail, perfect framing, and the fact that the one on the right is pulling a "wink" for the camera makes this a great shot, superb work,

I heard my first screech owl last summer and was so startled that I screeched back. The baby on the upper right looks either hung over...or that he's winking at you.

The POV is wonderful - and the capture is sharp, colors natural, and DOF perfect. It's a heck of a thing to get one, but these two are adorable...although I have to wonder what the one that looks a bit...out of it has had!

Great notes, too, by the way.

Very nice portrait of these owls - the eyes look amazing! I like the way they have been 'framed' within the leaves. The picture looks a little grainy - did you have to use a high ISO? I like grain though!

I love the composition of your shot with the nicely detailed branch crossing our line of vision. Then the owls are also nicely detailed, too. I'm pretty sure that the one on the right has a liking for you! The expression is definitely 'come on up!'
