I am very fond of thistle Art..Not sure if there is any one reason but each view from another perspective, such as this, is something new to me. I use it medically...as my kids taught..and this image is a view/perspective I might not have thought of....but because the eye is drawn to a single point..I find it entrancing...so composition is the number one here.

Interesting close-up, my friend.
I also like to shoot such subject at various POV. Exposure parameters are so effective. Combination of sharpness of the bud's top and blurriness of the BG is very nice. Lights and colours are so pleasant May be only strong symmetry is disputable. However, this is matter of taste. My compliments and TFS.

Hello Art,

You have captured fine details here from a very original angle. My only suggestion to you would be to consider the composition a little more. Your composition is very central and, for me, perhaps looses a little of its dynamic impact. Consider the fame in thirds, horizontally and vertically and it ususally works best to position the image on one of the thirds lines.
