[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
hello, after what happened to our friends Rob (Arfer)
and Paul (Lawbert their account being disabled
like many of us i was decided to take a break,
but this afternoon i have done some shots that i love
and decide to shared it with you and especially
to dedicate these shots to our lost friends Rob and Paul

i will start with this one that is for Paul who was
one of TN masters in in-flight shots, Paul i was
inspired from your in-flight shots of different
Europeen birds and this Ring-billed Gull
in-flight shot i am dedicating it to you

photo shot with my old (i have since april 2003)
point & shoot Fujifilm compact camera, with that
camera i can shoot in a roll 4 images in 0.8 seconds,
one image every 0.2 second, this one is shot #3,
this camera is a 3X zoom and 3 megapixels,

« In North America, the ring-billed gull breeds
in the Northwest from the prairies of Canada south
to California. It is also found in the Great Lakes region,
the Canadian Maritimes, and northern New England.
It winters from southern New England south to Cuba,
from the Great Lakes south to the Gulf of Mexico,
and from British Columbia south to Mexico.

The ring-billed gull returns to its nesting site
well before it is time to nest to establish its territory.
It usually nests in colonies on islands in lakes with
other gulls and terns. A nesting site may have
as many as 1,000 pairs of ring-billed gulls. »

Your heart brought you back...as I, you are not much into the politics but you do love nature and you cannot love nature without sharing it...it's what I told my son many many years ago when he was afraid to jump into a cold water swimming pool..I called him over and said to him in a whisper..."Don't think. Just do it"..I said to him that it was the very heart of the secret of the Tao (ancient oriental wisdom). We have 7 natural born children from one very long marriage...and all of them love nature as do you and do I.

I now dub this photo back to you with a new title:
"The Way"

You and many others who will read this will now...the way...It is a gift from me to you and to anyone who reads this...

Hello Asbed,

It's soooooooo good to see you again. I didn't make it as long as you did and I have missed you. Wow - you are getting good at these in-flight birds. What a perfect dedication to Paul! This Gull is wonderful - great details throughout. I love the face,the wings and the tail feathers. The setting is beautiful too.

Hi Asbed.
It is great successes to freeze such wonderful scene. Terrific in-flight picture with amazing posture of the bird and precise timing. I like fine colour palette and excellent composition of the picture. Bravo and many thanks for note too.

Yes, Paul is a master at in-flights and I hope he returns to TN.
This in-flight is well taken with your old point-and-shoot from a fine POV with good sharpness agains the OOF trees and blue sky.
Excellent lighting on the gull.

Malgré l'utilisation d'un P&S, l'action est bien figé. J'aurais préféré avoir l'oiseau plus a droite mais cela n'empêche pas que c'est une belle prise.

Nice to see you back and a fine dedication to Rob and Paul whom I miss here but I hope they get a good chance to be out 'shooting' instead of sitting by the compouter!
Excellent try at an in-flight capture of this Gull displaying its beautiful feathers. Nice background too!
