Grasshopper ?
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hi Folks , found on the dusty hills in the Alberta Badlands , this grasshopper was one of very many. though grasshopper in name this fellow really seemed to prefer the rocks over the grass , there was not a whole lot of insect life that I could find on these hills , and not that much for plant life either.
found at the base of one of the colorful hills , this hoppers camouflage was well suited to blend in to the sedimentary mud that erodes off the hills with every rainfall. I tried to extend the color of this photo in an effort to make the grasshopper stand out a little better.
thanks for stopping in
regards

Hi Art!
This is common beahaviour in species similiar to this one. They prefere hot, sandy or rocky places because of temperature. They're very well camouflaged so they're not very afraid of predators.
I like face to face POV with big smile on insect's face. Good work!
