[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
hello dear TN friends, yesterday afternoon i had the luck to
meet a very collaborating Eastern Cottontail rabbit, he posed
for me something for 1 hour, i did something 100 shots, not all
good but i have done many beautiful shots from different views,
i put myself at his level (je me suis mis à sa hauteur), i was
slept at my belly, a distance of 10 to 15 feeets and by crawling
i was advacing with him, i passed like this with him
something around 1 hour

i was at the little nature park (where is the pond) near my home,
in the coming weeks, months and year(s) i wil post the images

this photos was shot with my new toy, my new compact Nikon,
i was at ISO100, we where at the end of the afternoon,
and if you see the exifs i shot at 1/25s shutter speed,
oh what a great thing the OPTICAL image stabilizer

« During mating season, males often fight with each other.
The male and female also perform a kind of mating "dance".
The male will chase the female. Eventually the female will
stop and face the male and box at him with her front paws.
At some point, one of them will leap straight up in the air
and then the other one will jump up in the air too.

The eastern cottontail mates between February and September.
The female builds a nest in a depression in the ground and lines
it with soft materials and fur from her chest. The female gives
birth about a month after mating. She has between one to
nine babies, although she usually will have four to five young.
The female feeds the young twice a day. The babies are weaned
after about three weeks and leave the nest after about
seven weeks. he female may mate again just hours
after giving birth. Females can have three or four
litters a year. Eastern cottontails are ready to mate
when they are three months old. »

Hi Asbed,

This rabbit is great! I love the expression on his face. Looks like he's thinking why is this human crawling around after me like that. Actually he has a very superior look. Wonderful details and natural colors. I love the eye, the ears, and the fur. A very pretty setting with the grass and leaves.

Hello Asbed,
Well worth crawling on your belly to get this close shot of an Eastern Cottontail! The result is excellent with not only fine sharpness, but a great pose, fine lighting and contrast with the BG and a pleasing composition. You can't get closer to have a full inclusive portrait!

What a charming creature and perfect image. Only may be cropping is strong a little bit. I am amazed with details of the image and terrific sharpness of the animal and nearest grass. Glance of the cottontail is stunning. Bravo.
