My 200th post

This image is dedicated to all my friends at TN who have helped me and given me support over the years. Thank you for all your suggestions, comments and critiques. I appreciate your honesty.
Here's to the next 200, Cheers!

This images shows better what an old growth forest should look like. Large diameter cedar and douglas fir trees. It also includes a stump which is slowly being decomposed and is home to new trees, shrubs and moss. I think if you were to dig down into the soil it would consist of decomposed trees, leaves, and sand.

I just loved this place near Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island.

Hi Janice,

I enjoyed looking at your 200th photo very much. The varieties and lushness of the growth shown in your image are quite incredible! I lived in Vancouver, many years ago. I used to go over to the Island from time to time. I have many fond memories of those visits. Your photo reminds me of another area I experienced also -- the Olympic Peninsula. Some day, I hope to go back, so that I can spend some time just looking at trees (and taking a few photos, of course) in one of my favorite corners of the world. Thanks for sharing your lovely photo!

Hi Janice,
I like places such as this one you have photoed.Mosses and ferns, lichens and fungi of all sorts live in our forests and this capture shows some of that very well with the colour being spot-on and for such a slow shutter speed hand held at that, very clear and sharp focus.While you were there did see see any animals?I am back now and will be uploading some more goodies in the weeks to come and hope to look in on TN more often as I do miss it somewhat.A good photo with lots of eye appeal,well taken by you,Janice and thanks for sharing it with us all.One more thing,did you get snow overnight as it sure has been cold lately. Hi Janice. Congratulations on number #200! Yes this looks like the northwest rain forest... green on green on green. Often I find it difficult to photograph but you did well to find the stump and tree trunk as center of interest that breaks up the overall green patterns.

Hi Janice!

You have chosen a natural, wild and untouched spot for your 200th posting. I like the atmosphere very much and it remembers me large parts of our forests here. It's quite a difference if we humans intercede or if we let the nature untouched. I prefer this view here...
