My Goodness! This is really a close shot. All the details are fun to look at. I love the sharp bird against the soft background with toning colors. The seed is a wonderful bonus that adds a lot of interest to the photo.

Wow, Mircea... What an amazing close-up.
I see a lot of big feathers dropped by molting geese and ducks,
but your picture makes me wonder... What a sparrow feather looks like.
Fantastic details and colors.
Love that seed in the beak. He looks rather pleased with himself.

Hi Marcia. You have taken a fine close up of the Sparrow. Fine detail in the feathers with natural colours. You have used the light so well to give catch light in the eye. A good POV/DOF .It stands out so well from the BG. well done TFS. Ineteresting notes too.

Your capture of this American Tree Sparrow is great and your timing was just right to photograph it at that moment it had the seed in its mouth. This is a lovely portrait, with wonderful colours and details displayed with great clarity. The detail captured around the eye area is excellent and it looks as if it was woven. I like the rustic brown feathers on its head and the stroke coming from the eye, as it adds some charm to this “ordinary” type of bird. This is indeed a beauty. Great close-up with great sharpness, displaying colours and detail very well. Thanks for sharing.
