[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dappled Light is the title I give this offering for today. Sure they are common the world over but sometimes I turn my camera's lens towards tree squirrels anyway. The soft dappled light appealed to me in a way that I can't really describe except it is somewhat like some of the 19th century's impressionistic paintings, with the light play.Once again I make mention of paintings and sometimes a camera does just that, it creates an image that looks like a painting. An impression of reality with just enough detail to make it plain just what the subject is.I appreciate nature's artistry and try to show it as she has presented it to me as a way to honor her.Now you might think the crop could of followed more closely the third's rule but I wanted the dark to be balanced with the light in a more less diagonal line. I still have a very long way to go, to capture the essence of what nature is about as it is such a sublime thing that is sometimes only felt and my photos can bearly get out what I feel.Still I continue on ,enjoying the attempts I make to show beyond what the eye sees.
I hope you enjoy this image and in your way understand just what it is I'm trying to say with my note about the sense of that which is not seen directly-the essence of life here on good old planet earth, the artfulness of it and the timeless quality it has, from time immemorial to the here and now.Life is all around and it shines!

Hello Bob

Good use of focused and OOF space here, very nicely composed.
The tree trunk makes a perfect shelf for this squirrel to pose on.
The light is lovely, and as you say there is a beautiful dabbled appearance.
Good focus and sharpness,
TFS

I you lived about 2000 miles east you could say Le' Squirrel! Hey Bob, I added this to my tree bark theme..it's an open theme...and of course the clear crisp bark makes the image...What's a squirrel without a nice tree eh?..I think it is a fine one sir...snow comes....be careful! he knows and so do you...

Hello Bob , A Fantastic shot from the squirrel , I love the colours and sharpnes incredible bg very good , tfs ,Greetings Teunie .

I like the title and do love that soft impressionistic background. The composition is strong and the colors are really pretty. I do feel that one part of the image should be sharp though...perhaps the whole squirrel or just its face and eye. I tried a workshop.

The piece of wood where the squirrel stands is superb, Bo, and the mellow creamy background sets the little squirrel a beautiful scenery! It is so cute and fat, at this time of year, they are often fat like little piglets ;-) Evelynn did a good workshop by sharpening the squirrel. Great shot, Bob, many thanks to you. And you make wonders with the new Canon, by the way...

Hi Bob,
I see he is wearing his tail for warmth here my friend. This is is well exposed and focused Bob, giving a great gander at the little guy. I also like his pose on the old cottonwood, thank you Bob, great work.
